Home Design Services
As home architects in the Charleston area, we are passionate about helping people design custom living spaces that let them enjoy the beauty of our local landscape. Whether you wish to build your dream home on a LowCountry marsh, renovate your current residence in Summerville, or modify a historic residence in Charleston, we can help.
Our residential design portfolio encompasses a vast array of project types in a variety of locations, but our objective remains the same: to understand and ultimately translate your vision into a finished product that exceeds even your own dreams. We specialize in custom residential design, and we ensure that each home is built to take advantage of the surrounding environment. Our experienced home architects are able to take the style and the elements of each space and synthesize them into a coherent whole – creating beautiful, integrated homes that fit the site and your lifestyle.

Let us walk you through the custom home design process for some of the dream homes we have built. We’ve designed custom houses on the beach and in rural woodlands, as well as residential townhomes and apartment buildings. We can help you design a home that suits your lifestyle perfectly.
If you love your current home but want to make some changes to create a living space that suits your needs, a home renovation can make you feel like you have a new house! Renovations are usually more challenging than designing a new home, and we love it! We are experienced with renovating and remodeling everything from dated 1970’s homes to historic residences, and our LEED-certified architects can help you make your home “green” so you can save money AND the environment.
Most of the inquiries we receive are from homeowners interested in home additions so their home will accommodate their family’s changing needs. But we have noticed that this type of project is the least understood by homeowners, who are often surprised or dismayed to discover how many issues will affect or limit their ideas. And sometimes they get so overwhelmed they give up.
This is a shame, as we have seen what difference an addition can make! So we developed our unique process of project management to help homeowners through the design process for an addition. The fist step is our thorough pre-design analysis of your budget, zoning restrictions, status of the existing structure and your needs and requirements, to give you all the valuable information you need up front to make the best decision for you and your family and get off on the right foot.
