There are far fewer more joyous days than ground breaking day on your brand new home!

Recently we celebrated this momentous day with our clients and design partner team of LuAnn McCants (Interior Designer), Kelly Messier (Landscape Architect),  and the great group from at Sea Island Builders.  When you work with a family on the design of a custom home, it’s a process. Sometimes it can take a year to work through all of the details for the design, identify the property, get bids, get permits, set budgets.  At the beginning, ground breaking day may seem like a lifetime away, but it is always the important millstone you are pushing towards.  This is when the design on paper and all the prep that’s been done to so carefully consider every detail comes to fruition.  It’s tangible when you walk down the cleared path for your driveway for the first time.

Thoughts of grabbing the mail after a busy day out, driving in as you catch the sunset on a beautiful summer day, holiday decorations on the house and lining the drive, happy homecomings for relatives, and so much more. This is where it all starts.

The festivities in Mount Pleasant were full of excitement, anticipation and sweet treats of a custom designed cookie with the sketch of the Deep-Water Coastal Home on it by Charleston Cookies & Cupcakes.  Here I am showing our clients what was created for them.

And this touching moment with one of the homeowners.  Without words, you could see the pride of the realization of a dream come true of a forever home for your family.
