European-Inspired Coastal
New Home In Cassique Golf, Kiawah Island Club
Lovely new home designed by Swallowtail Architecture for the exclusive Cassique Golf Community on Kiawah Island. The homes European-inspired design has classic appeal with a creamy stucco, paneled detail around the windows painted with a contrasting medium gray, and the warm brown tones of a cedar shake roof, copper metal roof accents over the dormered windows and front porch, and copper gutters. Surrounded by nature, the homes color palette of white, brown, and gray blends perfectly with the lush greens of the native plantings and the blue tones of the water of the Atlantic Ocean, the Kiawah River, and a backyard lake.
The stately front entrance of a double wide stair case topped with slate treads welcomes guest into the home. A generously sized floor plan with an open concept living, dining, and kitchen area opens up to the back pool deck with spa through a series of french doors. A screened in porch directly adjacent to the pool deck, and accessible through the kitchen, extends outdoor entertaining into all four season with a gas-log fireplace. European-style kitchen cabinets that are flush face with exposed framing are painted white with burnished brass handles and knobs. The brass accent appears in other parts of the kitchen including on the range vent hood seams, the pot filler, and the two sink faucets (one main sink and the other prep sink in the large island). The kitchen island is topped with a white and gray quartzite and the surrounding cabinetry is topped with a solid gray with light speckles. The cabinetry encasing the wall of appliances of the full height refrigerator and full height freezer and the 60-bottle wine refrigerator is painted a satin black. Square backsplash tiles installed all they way to the ceiling are a creamy white with an high polish glaze that gives a little shimmer to the kitchen.
The homes design with a steep roofline concealing most of the second story from street view was an essential part of receiving design approval from the Cassique Design Review Board. Within the second-story of the home you will find several guest suites and a large den over the garage that can be used as an entertaining space or a home office. The home is also elevated, which helps to protect from ocean water storm surge when you are so close to the coast.
